A great way to increase your digital reach is to get your content on more websites. As well as a platform for specification, education and events, you can also take advantage of Archify’s traffic and network by creating a profile for your company and uploading projects and updates. Your projects and updates will not only be available for all to see on Archify, but will rank high in search engines. To get the best result, here are a few tips to optimise your page to appear in search engines.

1. Setting up your company on Archify

The first step is to build your profile. If you’re an Archify member, click on “My Account” on the menu bar under your name to or by hovering over your profile picture in the top right corner. Then, click the button labelled “Add My Own Company”. For non-members, you have the option of creating a company profile when you sign up, but you can set it up at any time. Fill in your company name, category and relevant email. You’ll be asked to fill in some basic information, add a profile picture and cover photo, and link any relevant social media. Don’t worry, you can change it later. Your profile is ready to go, all you need to do to go live is upload a project.

2. Find your keywords

You might already have an outline of your company that you use, but have you considered its SEO strength? If your aim is to attract more clients from search engines, there are a few things you should consider. First of all, you should identify what keywords you want people to use when searching for your company. Then, arrange these in order of relevancy. This is called a keyword hierarchy, and will help you write effective copy for SEO. Make sure you use your most important keywords first and frequently, then your less important ones further down in the copy. This will help search engines determine the relevancy of your keywords in regards to your content.

Another tip is to enter your keywords into a search engine to see what else they rank for. You’ll get a good idea for the type of content your page is competing with.

3. Write informatively

It’s just not a matter of loading a page with keywords and ranking high. In fact, this will negatively affect your position. This is a good thing, however, because no one wants to be tricked into going to a website. Search engines reward content that is easy to read and clearly signposted. Just by answering Who, What, Where, When, How and Why you’ll greatly improve the SEO.

4. Link to and from your website

Another way for search engines to judge the relevancy and authority of a page is with backlinks. These are links between websites you often see anchored to a text or an image. This acts as a reference, and tells search engines that content between two websites is related. Backlinks are also a good way to send traffic from one page to another. When building your profile, you can link your website from your Company Profile. Hyperlinks can also be added to Updates, ensure your posts and articles also link back to your website.

5. Aggregate your content

If you’ve got great content, get it out there! Archify allows you to aggregate your content from your website directly to the ArchifyNow Updates blog. Use the above techniques to ensure your writing is search engine optimised, and that users can intuitively navigate to your website from your content on Archify.

All you have to do is select Add New Update from the Updates tab, then copy and paste your article from your website into the appropriate fields. As with most places, search engines aren’t keen on plagiarism. If you are aggregating content, make sure you select “No” when asked if this is an original article and then enter the link to where your original article is located. This allows us to tell search engines that your content is aggregated, so it isn’t flagged as plagiarism.
