About Kasumi Architecture

Kasumi Architecture is a residential architecture practice based in Warburton, in the upper Yarra Valley, serving Melbourne and regional Victoria. The studio is led by Yusuke Shiratori, a Registered Architect with the Architects Registration Board of Victoria (ARBV 20149) and a Certified Passive House (Passivhaus) Designer with the Passive House Institute. We design new homes, alterations, and Passive House retrofits, combining a Japanese-Australian design sensibility — restraint, natural materials, and a deep connection to landscape — with certified Passive House performance: airtight, super-insulated buildings that stay comfortable year-round while using a fraction of the energy of conventional homes. We work across greater Melbourne and the Yarra Valley, with particular expertise in climate-responsive, energy-efficient homes — from urban infill and renovations to new homes on rural and bushfire-prone sites.
