About Tamara Wibowo Architects

  Founded in Semarang in October 2015 by Tamara Wibowo, this architecture studio is grounded in a thoughtful, research-based approach to design. Tamara earned her Master of Architecture from the University of Minnesota in 2005 and spent six years working with several architectural firms in the United States. In 2011, she returned to Indonesia, bringing with her a diverse set of design experiences that continue to shape her practice today. The studio views each project as a unique opportunity to respond to its context, users, and program. Rather than applying a singular design language or style, the firm allows each building to emerge from the particularities of its site and client, resulting in architecture that feels both personal and place-specific. Tamara Wibowo Architects believes that architecture should not only be seen but also felt. Their work goes beyond aesthetics to explore how light, shadow, material, and space can create rich, sensory experiences. Projects are shaped by a dialogue with nature, careful attention to proportion, and a deep curiosity about how buildings are made.
