Although houses were built with quite a spacious outdoor area for each lot, the division of the outdoor and indoor area were apparent. With the absence of strong regional identity, whether in the form of buildings or distinctive natural beauty, the mayor initiated collaboration with andramatin to develop the district, both in terms of urban planning and the district as a whole.

Located on a well-known world heritage site in Penang, the Edison George Town takes its place in a former Hokkien tycoon’s Anglo-Chinese mansion built in the early 20th century. This upmarket 35-room boutique hotel combines the colonial past and oriental charm of Penang through a concept of timeless elegance that offers a blend of modern and traditional elements. It pays homage to the city’s monumental architectural features and creates a distinct design identity.

Located at the tip of the Java island, Banyuwangi recently has developed into a destination for local and international tourists. Set amid the mountains on the west side, and the sea on the east which directly borders Bali island, this regency relies on the natural beauty of Java island which is not yet popular to public. To date, the development of Banyuwangi is supported by a number of national architects who were involved in the construction of tourist facilities as well as a variety of well-organized city and public spaces. A well-designed environment can be experienced even at the moment tourists set their foot for the first time when using the airlines.

In order to fulfil the need for more learning space with an ever-growing number of students, Universitas Jenderal Ahmad Yani (UNJANI) completed a new building for the Faculty of Social and Political Science (FISIP). This new building was designed by XY Architects and consists of two building masses that are connected by an atrium covered with skylights at the top and curtain walls at the two ends.

Bluprin began as a platform that connects architects and fellow designers with the public for various needs of design works and renovation. Currently, Bluprin has more than 3,000 professionals with at least 8,500 uploaded projects. In the development, Bluprin also enables construction material suppliers to promote their products and now the platform offers more than 15,000 products from various categories to be explored.

Public space, as we know it, is a designated area in a governed human settlement that is accessible to everyone. As it is named, public space functions as a place for public gathering—one of the earliest examples is the square in ancient Greek metropolis and similar space that other cities built through the span of the last millennium. The more recent takes on public spaces include parks, pedestrian path as well as other accessible infrastructure, and sometimes, institutional buildings. Public space then functions more than as a place to gather, but also to relax, spend time doing almost anything, up to being a deliberate pause in a dense urban design, and as an ecological element, for instance, an area of water reserve or for nature to thrive.
