VIEW PROJECT

Bukan Ruang is a multifunctional cafe that is designed to be flexible and compact. Occupying a space formerly used as a gym, this café accommodates events and artworks, aside from operating as a coffee shop.

Seniman Ruang designed the interior by placing the barista counter in the middle as the café's focal point. To support its function as an event space, the counter is made portable so it can be rearranged when a wider space is needed. The tables and chairs are arranged around the barista counter for easier and faster service.

Along the façade of the cafe, the design team used elongated sliding windows and bar tables to create additional seating area that connects the indoors with the outdoors. The walls surrounding the seating area function as the canvas for displaying artwork, fitted with adjustable lights.
