Jakarta, Indonesia - Sandei proudly unveils their latest creative installation, the Awakening Senses Pavilion, at Arch:ID 2025, Indonesia’s most anticipated forum and trade exhibition. The pavilion was designed by Studio S+AO, under the creative direction of Bran Suwandrei Arifin as part of a dynamic collaboration between Sandei, Wonders of Weaving, Armonia, Alvin T, Luar, Euodia, Melatone, and BYO Living, with generous support from Ivan Yap and Malka. Exhibiting in ICE BSD, this immersive structure invites visitors to explore how spatial design can awaken the senses through adaptability, layering, and emotion-evoking experiences.
The Awakening Senses Pavilion is a spatial and sensory journey designed to explore how materials, light, and movement can create environments that both inspire and respond to human experience. Embracing the theme of adaptability, the pavilion invites visitors into a shifting landscape of enclosures—where touch, scent, light, and sound interplay in poetic harmony.
Showcasing a contrast between solidity and transparency, the pavilion’s architecture reveals its structural core with the exposure of typically concealed metal elements that are softened through layers of porous, woven materials. At the heart of the squared-geometric planned layout, a weaved metal circular pendant is inscribed in the center, highlighting the tension between geometry and texture.
Central to the installation is a flexible system of 3-layer blinds and sliding panels, operated using Sandei’s signature mechanisms that accommodate different spatial settings. This enables the pavilion to shift between open exhibition mode, intimate workshop settings, and semi-private talk show arrangements. Each configuration reflects a different threshold of privacy and sensory engagement, showcasing how design can evolve to support diverse human needs.
From the feel of textured surfaces to the scent of curated aromatics and the modulation of natural light, every element has been carefully composed to awaken the senses and inspire emotional connection.

This event explores how layered and adaptable design can lead to more meaningful environments. The evening opens with a live performance by Okubo Jasmine, with light fare by Lunch for My Husband and Guten Morgen.
Saturday, 10 May | Two Sessions: 2:00–4:00 PM & 6:00–8:00 PM (RSVP Only)
A hands-on workshop where participants can craft personalized aromatic blends in a calming, beautifully designed setting.
Sunday, 11 May | 2:30–3:30 PM at POD 1
