Parc Coffee and Bistro is located at the very high traffic road at Jalan Kesehatan Bintaro, South Jakarta. The Client is emerging
new brand for their own coffee shop near by the site. In respond to the brief, TSDS Interior Architects proposes a spatial
intervention for a new concept of gathering through coffee. The design concept for Parc is aimed to create a block in between
outside and inside through giant roster facade. The stacked roster forms a rigid architecture language. The composition of the
roster emphasizes a more natural and humble materiality to its context. This aligned with the Brand’s ethos of personality and
community.
The Mass is composed by 5 parts; the iconic facade, the entrance, the main area, the smoking area, and the outdoor area. At
the entry to what is inside, the entrance door is deliberately planned at the edge of perimeter wall where customers will not
directly go inside the main area, instead going through layers of spatial experiences to every part of the building.
The Entrance is covered by very gentle teakwood texture composing a sense of desolation from what is outside the building.
After going through such contrast experience, the main area is shifting in to a double height seating area with the iconic dome
at the centre of the building. The sun that goes into the dome exposing the domination of wood galore in contrast to subtle
textured paint together with fluted glass texture. Finishe This aligned with the Brand’s ethos of personality and community. s
details on wood panel at every corner add a touch of intricacy to the modest palette. Not only to be seen, the galore of different
finishes can also be touched upon all the furniture collections meticulously crafted by Kayunara. The encounter of edgy and
rounded add more elegance to the whole main area.
Going further to the other part of the building, where smoking area is basically located at the front of the building. Surrounded
by glasses, the space moves dramatically becomes lighter and chic. An Add on greeneries maintain certain boundaries from
the outside. Moving to the back of the building, the design is set to be a very monochromatic narrow hallway for any service
matters. The feelings of tightness making customer to move around faster.
At the final area up on the upper floor, an outdoor space acts as a spot that is open for public as a venue of various activities.
During the sunrise, an orchestra of light and shadow dancing out the grey finish that is no longer chill and flat. The giant roster
wall functions as a breathable wall. The space is now serving warmth and tenderness, a perfect spot to gather and having
morning activities.
The whole building becomes rich, vibrant, and provide a pleasant vibes to get a coffee and having social interactions.
