The brief from the homeowner is to create a more luxury living space, so the design team removed part of the slab to create double height living area, allowing a more breathable, brighter & spacious feel of the common areas. It creates an interconnection feeling & visual between ground and 1st floor. The designer successfully created a more flexible area by removing
solid walls in the living space. One of common denominator that we found in a developer house is too much solid walls are used, resulting in
isolated space or less flexible area. The redesign takes it cues to cater to client’s hobbies to create reading corner that wraps around the ceiling,
becoming the most prominent feature in the space. Double height glass walls, full-height precast concrete wall and natural light that penetrate into the space create a playful dialogue between art, nature & architecture.
