Deciding on a colour palette can be challenging as it ultimately sets the mood for an entire space. In this stunning New Zealand home, the concept designed by at.space sought to create a peaceful environment with an open flow throughout. This vision was brought to life in part by the smart application of Archant Porcelain in Cement Dark Grey.
Modern and clean, the neutral tones of the kitchen benchtop are accentuated by the warm quality of full-height timber cabinetry. The visible oak grain works in conjunction with the porcelain’s dimpled surface texture. With accents of antique brass, the designers struck a delicate balance with the unique home’s harder finishes.
With a classy, minimalist approach, the residence is brought together with a cohesive quality. Care was taken to use similar materials and colour pallets throughout, including the scullery, powder room, and bathrooms.
Infused with natural light, the home inspires while remaining approachable and inviting. And while symmetrical and orderly, there is still an element of randomness evident in the smaller details. The tapware and custom handles were chosen to soften these prominent elements.
The sophisticated and calming design breathes new life into this villa. It was not only embraced by the homeowners but is currently a finalist in the Residential Interior Design awards.
