The Sabariaga House is a two-storey residence designed for a couple who lives in San Rafael, Bulacan. The house sits on a parcel of land within the family’s huge property that also happens to be a limestone quarry. This is where the main inspiration from the design came from. The house is characterized by limestone blocks that line the exterior of the ground floor walls (as if to say that the foundations of this house were built by it), large overhangs that provide for additional shade and large openings that promotes natural cross ventilation and blur the lines between the interior and exterior. Color and texture is carefully balanced through the use of wood concrete and stone. and the house is easily broken down into simple horizontal and vertical lines.
