Pasco Firecryl is an acrylic fire rated and acoustically rated sealant that provides up to 4 hours fire rating in construction joints and service penetrations, whilst creating an acoustically sealed joint. Exhibiting outstanding adhesion and flexibility, Firecryl is suitable for interior/exterior* use where movement is expected to be up to ±25%.
Features & Benefits
• Fire rated up to 4 hours
• Acoustically rated
• One-Part
• Low odour
• Easy to apply
• Easy to tool
• Flexible ±20%
• Non-toxic
• Interior/Exterior**
• Superior adhesion
• Paintable
• Water clean-up
Uses
• Sealing construction and expansion joints
• Sealing joints in pre-cast panels
• Sealing joints and penetrations in acoustic partitions and walls
• Hollow concrete block walls
• Concrete floors and walls
• Pipe penetrations
• Perimeter sealing of door and window frames
• Fire rating of cable tray penetrations
• Used as a putty for filling holes in fire rated substrates
• Applications requiring acoustic properties or STC rating*
*STC rating will depend on joint configuration and overall design concept.
**Exterior applications of Firecryl must be protected from the elements.
Application Instructions
Substrate Preparation
All surfaces must be clean, dry, sound and free from dust, oil, rust, old sealant or any other contamination. Avoid contamination of waterproofing, form release and curing agents.
Joint Design
Open cell polyethylene backing rod shall be used to control the depth of the joint sealant application to the recommended thickness. Correct joint design is necessary to ensure Firecryl performs to its maximum movement capability and provide the appropriate fire-rating.
