What Is An HVAC System?

Heating, ventilation , and air conditioning systems (HVAC) are integral to ensuring thermal comfort as well as good indoor air quality. How Does A HVAC System Work

Filter: The filter is the second component in the return of air which air is drawn through. It is important to replace your filters on a regular basis to ensure that your system functions correctly.

Exhaust Outlets: The exhaust outlets are where the heat generated by the heating system is released. A good idea is to check your chimney's flue or vent stack each year and adjust it as necessary.

Ducts: Ducts allow cool or heated air to flow  freely. Maintain the HVAC ducts by having them professionally serviced every 2-5 years.

Electrical Elements: Keep an eye out for any electrical issues - they're often the root cause of many systems. When it comes to tracking them down, start by checking if a breaker is tripped or the thermostat battery needs replacing. Keeping those two electrical elements in tip-top shape can help you sidestep bigger problems!

Outdoor Unit: This is probably the component of your system that you're thinking of when someone speaks of the HVAC unit. It houses the outdoor fan that ensures airflow. Tips: Make sure to keep your unit free of any debris and plants as they can cause serious damage in the event that plants are pulled into the fan.

Compressor: The Compressor is responsible for converting refrigerant and oil to liquid, and then sending it to the coils. If something isn't functioning properly, check the compressor. It's often the root of many system malfunctions.

Coils: Coils are used to cool the air that moves through, with assistance from the refrigerant. It is advised to inspect your coils every year. If coils begin to freeze,  examine the levels of refrigerant and filter.

Blower: The Blower is responsible for pulling warm air into the main body of the unit, which allows for optimal air circulation and flow. This helps to ensure that the unit functions efficiently and effectively, providing robust performance for all its operations.
