Jointly organised by The Hong Kong Institute of Architects Biennale Foundation and The Hong Kong Institute of Architects, with Create Hong Kong of the HKSAR Government as the Lead Sponsor, the “HKIA Roving Architecture Exhibitions” (Roving Exhibitions series) touring in Venice, Kuala Lumpur and Nanjing last year, is finally returned to Hong Kong. This final stop contains the response exhibition to the “Transformative Hong Kong” Exhibition at the 18th Venice Biennale International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale Di Venezia with Hong Kong Arts Development Council as Co-organiser to be held at the Central Market from today to 11th March, as well as the Hong Kong stop of the “Harmony in Diversity – Connecting the Metropolis by in-between” Kuala Lumpur-Nanjing-Hong Kong Roving Architecture Exhibition which will be staged at Kai Tak AIRSIDE from 23rd February to 11th March. Both exhibitions are open to the public for free admission.

In the past, Sheung Wan was once the economic centre of Hong Kong, where many businesses started and witnessed the historical changes of the city. These old shops have either upheld traditions and continuously strived to thrive, or they have followed the pulse of the times, embracing transformation and innovation. We will lead you into Sheung Wan’s Dried Seafood Street and together explore the stories of these old shops. We will delve into traditional printing and salted fish shops, listening to the owners personally share their industry stories, understanding their significant role in Hong Kong’s development as a commercial hub, and witnessing their interaction with the cultural and tourism industries. In addition, we will also introduce new projects within the community, discussing how urban redevelopment and the pandemic have impacted the development of these traditional business and the community. At the end there is a reflective session to discuss the topic.

The Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of HCMC (HAWA) along with the American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC) recently announced the finalists for the 20th Hoa Mai Design Award 2023 during the Hoa Mai Exhibition Week.
