The typical low-profile barrel vault design creates an elegant low-rise arc spanning between supporting structures. The normal geometry for low rise is usually stated as the radius of the arch being equal to the span of the arch, although other geometries are also possible.
Spans of up to 8 metres can be achieved, with unlimited length, in an unsupported design. Larger spans are also possible, provided suitable supporting structures are incorporated into the design.
Xtralite Low Profile Barrel Vault Rooflights can be glazed in a number of options to meet Building Regulations Part L requirements and will achieve exceptional thermal performance. We can also supply units manufactured from solid, single skin polycarbonate for use as canopies or installed in unheated spaces. Metal parts can be colour coated or anodised.
Ends can be finished off with vertical glazed screens or simply abut an adjoining structure.
