Located in Tsing Yi Hong Kong, LHK is designed to be minimal with pops of color and shapes representing a human habitat, for the play area and animal habitats in the classrooms. Functional elements such as the school bag and coat hanging area transformed to playful shapes such as a cactus, banana tree, icicles and more. Also feature clocks represent animals matching each habitat. The space is meant to stimulate imagination while still leaving blank canvas space for their own artwork. Improved health features include HEPA filters for air purification in each classroom and integrated water filtration in the pantry. Eco design features include using low VOC materials such as vinyl flooring, eco paint and adhesives. Energy efficient LED lighting and window coverings help to lower their overall energy consumption. The bathrooms are also equipped with low flow faucets and double flush children’s toilets.
