An original 1950's apartment was in much need of revival, having been inhabited by three generations of the same family for over 30 years. Internal walls to the kitchen, lounge and entry were all removed to create an airy & easy open plan layout allowing generous spaces that all utilise the magnificent 360 degree views of Auckland city.
Warm Blackwood timber was used for large pieces of cabinetry - one unit concealing the bathroom door, and the other providing division between the lounge and the bedrooms. The crisp white walls allow light to bounce beautifully around the large open space, while the striking dark kitchen has an industrial edge with glass and steel sliding panels concealing and revealing everyday items.
