The Singapore Archifest 2025 is set to transform the city’s architectural landscape from 25 June to 25 July, inviting the public to engage with the theme "Don’t (Just) Think Like An Architect!" This year marks the festival's 19th edition, celebrating six decades of Singapore's design evolution.

Organized by the Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) since 2007, Archifest has established itself as a premier event in the architectural calendar. Supported by the DesignSingapore Council, this year’s festival aims to redefine the relationship between architecture and the community, emphasizing that architecture is not just about structures but a dynamic force that shapes lives and futures.

A Celebration of Heritage and Innovation

As Singapore commemorates its Diamond Jubilee, the festival will spotlight the Katong-Joo Chiat precinct, showcasing how architecture reflects the nation’s identity. The festival will feature over 60 Singaporean architects participating in the Architects Roundtable, sharing insights on their unbuilt works and discussing the future of architecture in Singapore.

Festival Director Rene Tan states, “Our theme challenges traditional mindsets and invites unconventional ways of thinking. Architecture is for everyone, and we want to inspire deeper reflection on its impact.”

Events and Highlights

The festival includes a diverse range of experiences, such as:

Singapore AF Conference (25-27 June): A platform featuring over 40 renowned speakers, including Pritzker Prize laureates and leaders from various fields, aimed at sparking fresh perspectives on architectural thought.

Public Programmes (SGAF+) (27 June - 25 July): This series will engage the community through ArchiTours, exhibitions showcasing emerging design talents, and interactive installations that invite participation.

Community Engagement and Installations

In collaboration with local institutions, the festival will introduce installations that celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the Katong-Joo Chiat area. These installations are designed to enhance public spaces and foster community interaction, reflecting the festival's commitment to making architecture accessible to all.
