The HKIDA X CIFF Designer Tour 2026
The HKIDA X CIFF Designer Tour, held from 19–20 March 2026 in Guangzhou, underscored Hong Kong’s growing engagement with one of the world’s most influential furniture and design platforms. Over a focused two‑day, one‑night programme, HKIDA arranged accommodation, transportation, and dedicated on‑site support for members as they attended a packed agenda of forums, gala events, exhibition visits, and a curated sharing session.
Staged at CIFF (Guangzhou) 2026, which spans 850,000 square metres and convenes more than 4,900 brands, the tour immersed participants in a global showcase of furniture, interior products, and intelligent design solutions. Designers and industry representatives from across the Asia‑Pacific region used the fair as a hub for spotting emerging trends, strengthening cross‑border networks, and discussing how smart, sustainable, and user‑centric design is reshaping living and working environments.
A key highlight was “The International Design Thinking Innovation Forum,” co‑organised by HKIDA and CIFF, which brought together a strong line‑up of HKIDA speakers including Joey Ho, CM Jao, Eric Chan, Samuel Lam, Regina Kwok, Jay Leung, Kay Tu, Mary Wong, Andrew Lam, Boris Cheung, and Ini Tong. Through panels and presentations, the forum examined new approaches to interior practice, fostered cross‑cultural dialogue, and showcased how Hong Kong designers are responding to contemporary challenges in residential, commercial, and public space design.
HKIDA acknowledged the support of its speakers, partners, and sponsors, noting that participant engagement throughout the tour turned the programme into an active platform for exchange rather than a passive visit. Building on the momentum from Guangzhou, the association signalled plans for further exchange initiatives aimed at broadening members’ international exposure and strengthening Hong Kong’s role in the regional design ecosystem.
