Case Study: Renovation of a Luxurious Viennese Villa

An exclusive villa in Vienna’s prestigious 13th district underwent a full interior renovation this spring. To complement the bright, modern design concept, the interior designer sought a flooring solution that would enhance the home’s fresh aesthetic while preserving the natural character of oak.

Floor Contractor Aigner from Ybbsitz, Austria, carried out the renovation across 350 m², including all staircases. The existing panel parquet and oak plank floors were completely refinished using the Bona System. Dust-free sanding was performed with Bona FlexiSand 1.5 connected to Bona’s Dust Containment System (DCS), ensuring a clean working environment during the extensive renovation.

To achieve a uniform surface, Bona Mix & Fill Plus was applied, followed by colouring with Bona Craft Oil 2K Frost, giving the oak a contemporary light-toned appearance. For long-lasting durability and a natural ultra-matt finish, the floors were finally coated with Bona Traffic HD Extra Matt.

The result is a beautifully modern, bright floor that aligns perfectly with the villa’s refined interior, creating a cohesive and elegant living environment.
