Alphero Offices 2017

New Zealand

Alphero had leased half a floor above their existing office level to free up more working space and provide a greater variety of functional spaces for their growing business.

There are a variety of spaces designed to accommodate client meetings, small and large ‘in house’ group sessions, quiet working areas, casual meeting areas and multipurpose spaces for working, meeting or review.

An existing fit-out and raised floor was removed, apart from the existing kitchen, which remains.

The new walls, doors and glazing are composed as vertical elements, spanning between the floor and an upper datum. These elements vary in colour, texture and material depending on their function and are used to articulate the spaces at both a visual functional level.  Where privacy and intimacy are important they are made of acoustic paneling. Between the 3 largest meeting rooms they become sections of double glazed coloured glass, allowing light and partial views through while still providing acoustic and visual privacy. American Ash battens sit at the junction between the changing wall elements.

The 3 largest meeting rooms have 3 different characters expressed in their colours, light levels, aspect and selection of light fittings. Elsewhere clusters of rice paper lanterns weave the more open spaces together.
