This tiny warehouse was converted into a home for a professional couple.
The project was an innovative approach to increasing space within an existing residence by reducing volume to insert a roof deck/outdoor living area and install mezzanine floors to provide an additional 31m² of living space. The extra space created allowed Architects to design an additional bedroom, gallery office and bathroom. This allowed removal of a second room at ground floor level to expand the living space.
A small section of the roof has been removed to create a courtyard as well as the chance to install insulation and replace with thin plywood.
Large windows on the roof and openable windows above the garage door allow natural light and ventilation throughout the building.
