Votion Studios is transforming Hong Kong's creative landscape as a groundbreaking extended reality (XR) studio and virtual production facility. Equipped with cutting-edge tools, it empowers digital content creators, brands, and artists to realize their visions. Strategically situated in the Data Technology Hub in TKO, it is the city's first facility of its kind, blending XR technology with collaborative co-working and event spaces for immersive content creation in film, television, gaming, and next generation training simulations.

“The vision for Votion Studios was to create a dynamic environment that fosters collaboration and creativity,” says Ian Hau, designer and founder of XLMS. The studio’s interior combines sleek, angular industrial elements with vibrant orange branding, resonating particularly with KOLs and Gen Z users. Beyond its striking aesthetics, Votion Studios features advanced acoustic and lighting systems, establishing itself as an industry leader. Designed and constructed by XLMS in collaboration with vfxNova, the facility includes cutting-edge equipment such as a full BOLT motion control rig, a Phantom Ultra Hi-speed camera, and a crystal-clear 10x4x4 m³ LED CAVE.

This innovative space not only elevates media production standards but also enhances the quality of life for its users. “We wanted to create a transformative space that supports both creativity and well-being,” Hau explains. The thoughtful interior design promotes inclusivity and collaboration, ensuring that every corner of the studio is conducive to creative endeavours.

Sustainability is a core principle at Votion Studios. The facility optimizes space usage to minimize carbon footprints and aligns with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) objectives. “Sustainable design is not just a trend; it’s a necessity,” Hau emphasizes. The studio incorporates FSC-certified timber, low-VOC materials, and energy-efficient LED lighting, showcasing a commitment to eco-friendly practices. Ergonomic furniture and inviting breakout areas further encourage mentorship and knowledge sharing, creating a versatile work environment.

By integrating the latest XR technology with a collaborative culture, Votion Studios sets a new benchmark for the Greater Bay Area. “This innovative combination enhances creative potential and positions us as a key economic driver,” Hau states, highlighting the transformative power of technology in fostering growth and development.

The project has received recognition for its outstanding design, winning the 2025 Global Design Award for Interior Design - Entertainment, as well as the 2022 Outstanding Property Award London in the category of Interior Design of Workplaces. Additionally, Votion Studios earned an Honourable Mention at the 2022 BLT Design Awards for its exceptional interior design.
