The relationship between humans and nature undoubtedly plays a significant role in humans' overall health and well-being. However, when designing a landed house, the presence of nature elements is sometimes overlooked as it mainly focuses on utilising land use for many space requirements indoors.

In fact, incorporating nature into a modern living is deemed necessary, considering the myriad of benefits it brought to the house residents. DN House is one of contemporary residences that exemplifies a harmonious integration of indoor and outdoor spaces, creating a serene and luxurious living environment.

The spatial organization demonstrates a thoughtful interplay of public and private zones, seamlessly transitioning between grand, double-height communal areas and more intimate retreats. Highlighted by illuminated staircases with glass railings, the vertical circulation not only serves a functional purpose, but also acts as a sculptural element within the voluminous interiors.

The design leverages expansive glazing and open-plan layouts to maximise natural light penetration and offer panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The integration of lush greenery—both within curated indoor planters and through direct views to the landscaped gardens—further blurs the boundaries between built form and nature.

A recurring motif of slatted timber elements is visible in the exterior pergolas and interior ceilings. The motif provides both aesthetic warmth and functional sun shading, contributing to a controlled yet bright ambiance. The architectural language emphasizes clean lines and a restrained material palette, including concrete, wood, and glass which collectively articulate a sophisticated modern aesthetic.

The indoor swimming pool and the outdoor pebble garden with benches are the water features completing the nature elements of DN House. The strategic placement of these features introduces tranquil focal points and enhances the sense of a private oasis.
