VIEW PROJECT

After backlash over a lack of staff parking at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Hutchinson Builders were engaged by the Queensland Health Department to build a 1403 car facility with integrated child care at the ground level. Built over the old tram depot tracks, the building spreads the cars over 8 split levels and has the ability to add another two half levels with a removable long span, deep-V roofing system.

The building’s screen facade naturally ventilates the carpark and reduces light spillage into the surrounding ward and treatment buildings. It also provides an important high level linkage between the adjacent busway station and the rest of the hospital campus.
