QUICSEAL 607
Description
QUICSEAL 607 is a specially formulated SBR latex admixture to improve the adhesion of screeds, renders, patching and repair mortars to concrete and cement-sand substrates as well as for bonding tiles.
It is also used as an admixture for cement and sand mortars to improve the quality of screeds and renders. Once cured, the screeds and renders are resistant to water, mild chemicals and weathering effects.
QUICSEAL 607 is suitable for used in contact with potable water when mix with cement-sand as a screed and render as well as a tile adhesive system.
Uses
- Bonding agent for screeds, repair and patching mortars;
- Improve the adhesion between new and old concrete.
- Improve the water resistance and quality of screeds and renders/plasters for internal and external applications;
- Improve the cohesion and adhesion strength of screeds and renders/plasters;
- Adhesive slurries for bonding screeds and renders/plasters onto concrete, precast panels and waterproofing membranes;
- Key (splash or spatter) coat before rendering/plastering;
- Improve the strength of thin render/plaster coats;
- Bonding tiles on cement-sand substrates;
- Potable water tank system for a rendering, screeding and adhesive admix.
Substrate Preparation
The substrates must be clean and sound, free of dust and loose particles. All loose particles, oil, grease, paint, wax or any substance that may inhibit adhesion must be removed.
Mould release agents or curing compound which are not suitable for subsequent finishes must also be removed from substrate surfaces by using wire brush, scabbler, or other means.
Applications
Patching and Repairing
Dampen substrate but without ponding water and then apply a coat of QUICSEAL 607 or an adhesive slurry coat (see section on Adhesive Slurries) to improve the adhesion of patching mortars to the substrate. While the bonding agent is tacky, immediately apply QUICSEAL repair mortars or non-shrink grout.
Mixing
Stir QUICSEAL 607 and pour into a clean container. Add the appropriate quantity of cement and sand and mix slowly until a homogeneous consistency. Use the appropriate tool to apply the mix onto the substrate.
