BACKGROUND The Principal has extensive and relevant experience both locally and overseas. The firm strives to create appropriate architecture, built form to meet the needs and expectations of our clients, regulatory bodies and the wider community. Mr. Desmond Chen Y. H. graduated with Bachelor of Art in Architecture, University of Kansas, USA. in 1993. He has also obtained the Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering which concentrates in illumination & power distribution systems in 1992. Mr. Desmond Chen is a registered architect in Singapore and a Corporate Member of the Singapore Institute of Architects (MSIA) since 2000. He has been practicing architecture for 27 years in Singapore. He has extensive & relevant local & overseas experience in term of design, authority submission and execution of the project as indicated in the attached project reference lists. In addition, his key experience ranges from Masterplanning of township to micro detailing of architectural feature. His vast experience has assisted in development of some of the outstanding design of buildings in Singapore. DESIGN PHILOSOPHY APdS Architects is a design-oriented practice. The firm emphasizes on design creativity and innovation. Our design philosophy focuses on creating strong and clear architectural forms and space that are appropriate and contemporary; and using available technology and everyday operational problems to arrive at elegant solutions. The firm adopts a team approach towards project work providing continuity in design and enhancing the co-ordination and collaboration of all parties involved. SCOPE OF WORK Our services include master planning, high-rise commercial, multi-residential, hospitality, institutional, mixed-use, interior, private residential, and landscape design. Full architectural services are offered, including master planning, concept and detail design, documentation approval, supervision and authorities submission, in addition to full interior, landscape and project management.
