Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) is pleased to announce that CABE’s Hong Kong Chapter has been recognised by the Property Management Services Authority (PMSA) as a Recognised Professional Body (RPB) under Hong Kong's property management industry licensing regime.

This recognition confirms that CABE's Fellow Chartered Building Engineer (FCABE), Member Chartered Building Engineer (C.Build E MCABE) and Chartered Member (MCABE) membership grades meet the professional qualification requirements for the PMSA's Property Management Practitioner (Tier 1) Licence.

The recognition highlights the important role building engineers play in supporting building safety, maintenance, sustainability, compliance and asset performance throughout the lifecycle of buildings.

CABE Hong Kong Chapter Achieves PMSA Recognised Professional Body Status

Dr. James WONG, Chairperson of the PMSA said, “The PMSA welcomes the CABE Hong Kong Chapter becoming a PMSA RPB. Building engineering and PM services are closely connected throughout the life cycle of a building. Areas ranging from building planning, architectural design and fire safety to facilities repair and maintenance, risk management and sustainable development are all closely related to daily PM work. As public expectations for building safety, facilities management, energy conservation and carbon reduction, as well as smart PM, continue to rise, the PM industry needs to bring together expertise from different professions, including building engineering, to foster cross-professional collaboration and provide the public with more comprehensive, professional and quality PM services.”

Commenting on the achievement Richard Harral, CABE Chief Executive said:

"We are delighted that the CABE Hong Kong Chapter has been recognised by the PMSA as a Recognised Professional Body. This recognition highlights the important contribution that building engineers make to the effective management and long-term performance of the built environment.

“It also provides greater opportunities for our members in Hong Kong to apply their professional expertise within the property management profession and support the delivery of safe, sustainable and well-managed built assets.”

“As a globally recognised professional body, CABE is committed to supporting the development of competent professionals who can help meet the evolving challenges of building safety, sustainability and asset performance.”
