Congratulations to the Cornwall Coal Mines Rescue team for finishing first overall in the annual Victorian Mines Rescue competition run by the Minerals Council of Australia.
The team took part in several skills events including underground search and rescue, firefighting, road crash rescue, rope rescue and breathing apparatus, where they were well placed. They also won the first aid and skills event, and our captain Anthony Woods took out the captain’s award. This was enough to ensure that they were placed first overall in the competition, beating ten other Victorian mines rescue teams.
