Melbourne’s most beloved architecture and design festival returns from 25–27 July 2025, inviting the public to explore nearly 200 of the city’s most intriguing buildings, spaces, and stories
This year’s theme,“Stories of the City,” celebrates the rich narratives embedded in our built environment—from heritage restorations to cutting-edge sustainable design.
Among the highlights are some exceptional projects that showcase Fytogreen’s green infrastructure, offering a behind-the-scenes look at how nature is being woven into the fabric of Melbourne’s urban landscape.

This transformative development by Riverlee breathes new life into the heritage-listed Goods Shed No. 5, now home to Australia’s first 1 Hotel. The project is a masterclass in adaptive reuse and sustainable design, featuring over 7,000 plants, 4,500 sqm of recycled timber, and 2,000 salvaged heritage items
Fytogreen’s green infrastructure plays a key role in creating a luxury, nature-inspired hospitality experience, seamlessly blending Melbourne’s maritime history with lush, contemporary landscaping.
Designed with a human-centric philosophy, 555 Collins Street is a next-generation workplace that prioritises wellness, flexibility, and sustainability. Originally built in 1977, 500 Bourke Street has undergone a holistic retrofit led by FK and ISPT, transforming it into a carbon-neutral operational workplace
