Melbourne’s Urban Forest Fund – 2026 Grants Opening Soon

Greener cities start with bold ideas, and the Urban Forest Fund is back to help bring them to life.

The 2026 grant round will support projects that deliver meaningful environmental and community benefits across Melbourne.

Stream 1 will provide matched funding of $30,000 to $100,000 for high-impact greening projects on private property.

Project types may include:
- Green walls and facades
- Rooftop gardens
- New green spaces with canopy cover
- Communal outdoor areas
- Water-sensitive urban design
- Innovative and integrated green infrastructure

Fytogreen is proud to have been part of this journey from the beginning. Loop Roof’s green wall was one of the first projects funded by the Urban Forest Fund in 2017 and continues to thrive today, as shown in these images from its most recent maintenance visit in late 2025.
