A recent maintenance visit to the Triptych Apartments green wall offers a compelling answer.
Installed in 2010, this 206m² vertical garden continues to thrive 16 years on, a strong example of what happens when green infrastructure is approached as a long-term system, not a short-term feature.
In an industry where many installations struggle to reach even a fraction of that lifespan, this project reinforces a critical point:
Sustainability isn’t defined at handover - it’s proven over time.
This outcome is underpinned by:
• Site-responsive, climate-appropriate plant selection
• Integrated system design and delivery
• Ongoing, specialist maintenance ensuring consistent performance
Green infrastructure should be viewed as a long-term asset class, designed, delivered, and maintained with the same rigour as any other element of the built environment.
At Fytogreen, we design with lifecycle performance in mind - creating green walls that not only establish successfully, but continue to deliver value for decades.
