About Latham

Latham Australia is a third-generation, family-owned business established in the early 1950s. We design and locally manufacture a premium range of award winning products from our world headquarters in Gladesville, Sydney, including Stair Treads, Tactile Indicator Studs, Expansion Joints, Grates, Entry Mats and Wall Protection Products.

The company began in the supply and manufacturing of materials handling and power transmission equipment, including roller chains, sprockets, and custom-built special purpose machinery.

By 1960, Lathams shifted its focus, expanding its product range to serve the terrazzo, marble, granite, and stone industries. During this period, the company pioneered innovations such as the Neoprene-X-Pansion Loc Strip Control Joint System, along with dividing strips, self-aligning mechanical flexible expansion joint covers, slip-resistant stair tread nosings, and mall bars.

Over the years, Lathams has continued to diversify its offerings, introducing dirt-control entry mats, architectural landscape grids and grates, loading dock bumpers, tactile indicator studs, wall protection systems, and specialty terrazzo and stone care products. Today, Lathams exports worldwide, including Britain, Europe, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and the Pacific region.

The Latham name has become synonymous with premium quality and longevity, with products featured in many of the world’s most prestigious buildings. The company has received more than 30 awards, including multiple Australian Design Awards, and enjoys international recognition for excellence.
