Latham Loc Strips Zinc - 6mm Neoprene-X-Pansion - various depths
Latham Neoprene-X-Pansion Loc Strips are cost effective pavement movement control systems that are fast, efficient, and easy to install, leaving no mess. They provide a vandal resistant, attractive, permanent and maintenance free means of accommodating movement.
Latham Neoprene-X-Pansion Loc Strips are designed to be used in all hard flooring applications and to be installed in conjunction with wet bedded flooring applications. They are available in a number of neoprene insert colour and metal sideplate combinations including brass, zinc & stainless steel.
Loc Strips absorb tile and paving growth and minimise edge erosion and cracking, and are delivered to the site ready for installation. They replace the previously recognised and outmoded, difficult to effect liquid poured construction and isolation joints, which were often omitted from the paving due to problems and cost in producing a satisfactory joint on site.
Loc strips are manufactured for use in sand cement bed underlay, where the surface flooring finish will be installed onto the wet cement bed. They can be used for both internal and external applications. In external areas where increased movement and temperature change can be expected, a combination of wider neoprene control strips and reduced flooring component sizes should be considered.
As one of the first products manufactured by the Latham family company back in the 1960’s, the Neoprene-X-Pansion Loc Strip Control Joint & Neoprene-X-Pansion Tile Strip Systems remain the industry leader for floor control strips in Australian construction. In 70 years, no other manufacturer has been able to replicate the process that Latham has developed to create a completely secure bonding of the neoprene insert to the metal side plates that our floor control strips provide.
Neoprene-X-Pansion Loc Strips are manufactured under strict factory controlled conditions using high quality brass, aluminium or stainless steel plates bonded to a quality air channelled neoprene core. They are designed specially for installation in ornamental and architectural hard paving, to control the opening of floor joints during expansion and contraction.
Latham Loc Strips are 1800mm in length and are provided with anchoring loops at 175mm centres (for use with GW50/SSW50 Auxiliary Wire Anchors) for secure fixing and effective expansion and contraction control.
Before selection all usage factors must be taken into consideration including technical characteristics of the chosen paving material. However for internal applications bay sizes in general have been 4.5 metre x 4.5 metre grids using a 6mm wide neoprene strip, with special consideration being given to site conditions.
External paving bays are reduced to 3 metres x 3 metres with the installation of 12mm wide Loc Strips being strongly recommended for greater movement.
Special Application Neoprene-X-Pansion Loc Strips are available and are custom made to suit unique site specific conditions.
