AITHM at JCU encompasses three new facilities located in Townsville, Cairns and on an island in the Torres Strait.
Funded by the Queensland Government through the Department of Science, Information Technology, Innovation and the Arts, the first stage involved the design and delivery of a world-class infectious diseases research facility at JCU’s Douglas Campus, Townsville.
AITHM design incorporates:
PC3/QC3 for high containment laboratories;
PC2 laboratories;
Animal house for small to medium mammals with scope for individually ventilated cages (IVCs); and
Multi-purpose experiment rooms.
