I was fortunate to work with a very creative team on this project. The owner Joanna and Bettina Archer, Interior Designer contributed to achieving a very pleasing and dramatic result. This project was a good example of how a designer can challenge preconceived ideas of how rooms interact and their function. Moving the main bedroom to the front of the house, as opposed to the rear, enabled a more multifunctional room connected to both the outdoors and the ‘active’ end of the home. Even before Covid, the owners regularly worked from home, now this activity is made a more enjoyable experience with that visual connection to outside. The varying ceiling heights were accentuated adding visual interest and functional separation.
