Establishing a relationship with the Brisbane River was a key component in the creation of this Jindalee Residence. With a north facing view of the river, the home was designed to capture natural light, breezes and views across main living spaces. For the view to be experienced from all areas of the upper floor, a large void was placed in the centre of the home, and verandahs with large sliding doors were positioned on the northeast side, allowing a strong connection between the indoors and outdoors. This connection continues in the main living areas by allowing the front façade of the home to open and reveal a semi-outdoor space. The planning of the home also considered the religious beliefs of the owners, with careful placement and orientation of key areas such as prayer and meditation spaces, bedrooms, and bathrooms.
