In 2013, FMSA Architecture was engaged by the owners to undertake a site inspection and provide a condition report detailing defects and an implementation plan for delivering rectification works in short, medium and long terms.
As a result of the deterioration of the existing building fabric the review identified several upgrades were required in order to meet Mt Buller Resort Management requirements, and improved the aesthetic and functional appeal of the complex.
Keeping with the existing building envelope, the new works program delivered the repair and replacement of several elements including the façade and roof cladding, windows, timber decks, balustrades, new entry canopies and balconies. The program also delivered improvements to the insulation, and interior fitout throughout.
Completed in 2014, the program has given the Molonys Apartments a new lease on life and cemented its place in the Mt Buller resort for years to come.
