Named Australia’s best beach in the TripAdvisor 2019 Travellers’ Choice Awards, the stunning new design of the Sebel Sydney Manly Beach reflects the hotel’s enviable location on the southern end of popular Manly Beach.
This 35-year-old building was tagged to be the next flagship property for Accor Vacation Club (AVC) and needed some serious making over. It was a significant investment into the clubs’ portfolio so team IDI was selected to work meticulously with AVC to achieve their vision.
The extensive refurbishment incorporates interior upgrades to the accommodation suites, public spaces and pool areas taking into careful consideration the specific needs of longer-stay leisure travellers. “One of the major changes is the spectacular new lobby and reception area. We believe this significantly enhances the overall ambience and sense of arrival for guests checking into the hotel ” boasted AVC CEO Craig Wood.
Everything in the Sebel Sydney Manly Beach transformation has been thoughtfully curated to represent the iconic destination hotels’ immediate local environment which reflects the Manly urban beach appeal.
Tattoo Dezign supplied the superbly exclusive custom-design carpet, complementing the stunning feature wallpapers by Phillip Jeffries. In support of the hotel’s Planet 21 environmental charter, IDI were able to include 100% recyclable and low environmental impact Biowood on feature panel walls and details throughout the entire hotel, while Modwood decking has been used on the forecourt decks. Both are textural and warm, adding further depth to the overall aesthetics with a relaxed sense of breezy beach living.
Subtly infused textures, patterns and materials identify the essence of coastal chic and the relaxed quiet luxury synonymous with Penny del Castillo’s award-winning IDI style. The final result is a timeless, highly sophisticated, yet welcoming coastal ambience that has exceeded expectations.
