Fender Katsalidis was commissioned by Eco World to design a new landmark in South Yarra’s coveted Forrest Hill precinct.
Yarra One’s elliptical tower rises gracefully above the area’s built environment with its refined and sculptural composition, comprising of 268 apartments across 26 floors, as well as a range of shared amenity spaces akin to those of a luxury hotel, including a library, dining room, gym, wellness retreat and wine room.
Immersive materiality and refined detail are key drivers of the interior design, with the apartments and common spaces featuring the fine grain of chevron timber floors and honed marble benchtops. Each facet of the building’s architecture and interior design reflects a true sense of craftsmanship.
Yarra One has also been designed with the needs of the broader community in mind, with the ground floor atrium to become a fixture on Claremont Street. Encased by a grand timber trellis, the atrium will become a vibrant meeting place for both residents and the community to meet, shop and dine, featuring cafés, restaurants and retail spaces. It serves as a proud entrance for residents, as well as a public spaced designed to be enjoyed by all.
While Yarra One commands a grand presence on the skyline, the building has been anchored within the context of South Yarra. The result is an address which is both visually compelling and one that fits seamlessly within South Yarra’s typology.
