The Hong Kong Green Building Council has released the latest edition of “Hong Kong: Green Building in Action” to summarise the updates on Hong Kong's green building development status in 2023. Located in Hong Kong’s northeastern New Territories, Sha Tau Kok has been a significant settlement of Hakka people for more than 200 years. Despite its rich cultural and historical resources, many people have never visited this mysterious place. The government began opening the area in phases starting from 2012, with further openings in June 2022 and January 2024 for various reasons including tourism. Our exploration aims to shed light on the overlooked Hakka culture and military heritage in the region.
