The Kai Tak Sports Park project has taken a significant step toward sustainability and construction efficiency with the adoption of the HF2-CN8G-2M wire rope hanger system. A total of 112,250 units have been installed beneath the circular ductwork supporting the bowl seating area, marking a major milestone in the park’s development.
The HF2-CN8G-2M system replaces traditional M8 threaded rod suspensions, offering both environmental and economic advantages. Each meter of No.2 wire rope used emits only 0.07 kg of CO₂, compared to 1.15 kg/m from M8 rods. This switch has resulted in a total CO₂ emission reduction of 12,271.5 kilograms, aligning with Hong Kong’s broader goals for greener infrastructure.
Beyond environmental benefits, the new system also delivers substantial labor cost savings. Installation is up to six times faster than conventional methods, significantly reducing man-hours and accelerating project timelines.
The Kai Tak Sports Park, set to become Hong Kong’s premier sports and entertainment venue, continues to showcase innovation in both design and execution. The integration of advanced suspension systems like the HF2-CN8G-2M highlights the project’s commitment to sustainability, efficiency, and modern engineering practices.
