Prodigious, Brooklyn

Broklyn

A primary focus around Prodigious’ migration from Manhattan to Industry City in Brooklyn revolved around the company’s ability to attract and retain talent, and to connect with the surrounding community. The move into a neighbourhood full of designers, makers, and content creators has been a transformative step for the business and its employees.

The design inspiration is the contrast between old and new, analog and high tech. The colour palette is both architectural and playful, adding the brand’s bold pops of colour throughout by highlighting unexpected elements within each space. The entrance café welcomes visitors with a 20’ long wall of perforated metal panels backlit to highlight the company’s colourful logo.

The design includes studio spaces made up of a large recording studio, mixing rooms, edit bays, as well as the prestigious server room which is strategically placed within the heart of the workplace to highlight Prodigious’ commitment to technology. The open office space opens up as a bright and creative workspace, full of natural sunlight, 13’ high ceilings and a view of lower Manhattan.

Modern with a twist

The finished workplace has open, bright, and creative spaces surrounding tech-driven environments for people to interact or complete focused, heads-down work. Celebrating Prodigious being in the historical Industry City building, M Moser retained many of the existing architectural finishes within the design, including concrete columns with blemishes and writing, and the original hardwood flooring, while updating the space to fit the client’s modern image.
