Scope of work: Landscape Architecture
158 Cecil Street is located within the prime area of Singapore's Central Business District. It is a private oasis of vertical green landscaping, tapestries and columns within the exising 7-storey atrium. Its vertical excitement into a previously barren void of leftover space that was the exiting atrium of the building. The vertical green ensured that all functional floor space was preserved and also accentuated the volumetric qualities of the space.
Staggered facade of vertical glass panels allow daylight and air into the space. Artificial lighting illuminates the internal space at night to create an impression of greenhouse. The entire network of pipes is neatly camouflaged behind the green walls and brings water to the 13000 plants. Maintenance from behind these green walls are simple and safe to use. Existing behind the planters to provide access to all the plants at all levels of planting.
