L-Homes are built to be two units of semi-detached homes of two brothers.
Green building features were incorporated such as double roofing system with insulation helps to keep heat gain at a minimum, sliding doors and windows are placed strategically around the façades to maximise cross ventilation and reduce reliance on artificial cooling solutions. For the water heater and kitchen, a centralised Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) system was installed to be the main energy source. There is also a rainwater harvest system.
The front façade produce an atmosphere of a homely two-storey house, rather than a three-storey mansion, and minimum openings to minimize noise from road traffic. Since both homes have their side façades facing east and west, vertical aluminium sun shade screen are incorporated to provide effectively reduce sunlight and heat penetration into the building. Other than that, the screen also acts as security feature.
