This floor has been designed for 5 individuals at the apex of their organizational structure. A minimalist approach employs a reduced palette of rich materials to achieve this. Walking through the corridor leading to the office, one experiences a beech veneer wall on one side and limestone wall on the other passing a glass pivoted door; you would enter the main floor and see the POD which sits in the middle of the room. On the right is a smaller meeting room which is located on one end of the primary spatial axis. At the other end is a servery accented by a long bench and a waiting lounge. The back wall consists of further pivot doors which lead to the back-of-house. All offices are located on the edges of the floor. The POD is designed as both a sculptural element as well as a focus for the large floor space. The framing of this conference room alludes to the idea of structure while its wall of closed and open panels, alludes to a sense of transparency and lightness fitting in well to a contemporary expression in design.
