Located in the heart of the Kelvin Grove Urban Village, the award-winning QUT Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation was designed to facilitate research activities, commercial developments, new venture, public information services and programs.
A key philosophy for this project was to provide an environment that facilitates ease of communication and spirit of collaboration. This was achieved with spaces designed to promote interaction and idea sharing between the departments.
With interior spaces that focus on space types and patterns, rather than rooms, this creates more efficient work processes. Additional facilities also include biomedical research laboratories, dry labs and specialist molecular biology laboratories and can cater approximately 400 researchers.
