Located in the core area of Tianfu New District, the Tianfu Roadshow Art Center on the shore of Xinglong Lake plays the role of a window for the new district's cultural, artistic and technological innovation. It is also close to the lake and has a long-distance view of the city's landmark, which places higher demands on the design to systematically think about the space, form and the relationship with the surrounding area. The design of the Roadshow Art Center is integrated into the lakeside park. On the side adjacent to the city, it adopts a modest and supporting posture to provide visitors with a space for climbing and looking far away; on the side facing the lake, it spirals to form a diverse and pleasant waterfront space. The building has a simple shape and a rough texture. From a distance, it looks like a giant beast in the lake suddenly jumped out of the water, and it integrates into the environment with unique meaning and expression.
The building facade imitates the original rough rocks on the lakeside, forming a semi-transparent shield on the outside of the building in the form of a wave grille. The existence of the grille not only reduces direct sunlight during the day, but also forms a rich and changing architectural expression at night. The transparency of the facade forms the continuity of the external space and the internal space. The structure, the form of the ceiling and the changing light and shadow form a gradual sense of sequence and a strong sense of direction facing the lake. The depth of view of the lakeside, which is as deep as 2 kilometers, becomes the urban-level background of the internal space. This gives this large column-free space directly facing the water a unique spatial quality, and also provides citizens with a different waterfront life experience.
