About Plystudio Architects
Plystudio Architects is a design-driven, architectural practice based in Singapore, operating across all building scales within the inter-related fields of interiors, architecture and urbanism. The studio is founded by Victor Lee and Jacqueline Yeo. The name Ply, which stands for Practice of Lee and Yeo, also means to ply a trade, suggesting a return to the fundamentals of practice and honing the craft of building. Plystudio Architects is registered with the Board of Architects, Singapore to provide full architectural design and planning services. Its focus is to create innovative architectural environments that can achieve remarkable form and aesthetics, yet remain modest in budget and honest in expression in serving their respective users and communities. Plystudio Architects have a strong interest in furthering the design of buildings from typological research and implementation through building economy. This is currently being supported through teaching and leading design studios at the National University of Singapore’s Department of Architecture. In practice, this can be seen from their recently completed design of a 4-Storey extension to the Rainbow Center, as well as that of a recently completed Sales Gallery complex for a prestigious township developer in KL, Malaysia. Amongst the various building genres, Plystudio Architects have been and are currently developing innovative concepts for housing projects ranging from affordable housing in Kenya, East Africa, luxury living in the region to single family houses for individual clients locally. Currently, Plystudio Architects are continuing their research into the manifestation of teaching pedagogies through architectural spaces. Having designed and implemented a series of Preschools, they are now continuing to work on the design of larger scale educational and social spaces for an International School in the private education sector. Constantly at work between different scales and size of projects, Plystudio Architects’ relentless committment to their approach to design and practice remains singular and focussed as a means to generate consistent results and outcomes.
