New Built/Singapore/Completed 2015
The Owner of the plot where the previous existing 2 storey house was located came to us and requested for a simple house but able to fit in multiple families within the same family and been able to live autonomously if required. They knew we were the Architect whom has designed the concrete house next door and has requested for a house that has more exterior walls and less glass. We thought it was an opportunity to design another house with almost the same locality, as we think that is how a community language can start to form and grow, with the language developed by a single Architect.
The end result is a house with a simple facade that has symmetrically placed windows on the side and with equal proportions. A lot of attention was spent into creating subtle differing volumes and how they relate between the lower and upper floors, yet not losing the entirety.
