Facilities: inpatient ward, consultant rooms, treatment rooms and medical support facilities.
We wanted to create a stress-free environment in the new AMU unit for both the patient and medical staff. The interior concept is themed with rejuvenating oasis in mind to create a restful and calm environment for all.
The interior is panelled with warm-tone wood laminate displaying a home-like setting. While the patient’s beds are designed as an individual cubical providing privacy and comfort with a touch of exclusivity.
Design a tranquil ambience Important spaces such as the main reception are designed with a drop ceiling hinting its location and improving the wayfinding to it. It is shaped with gentle curves to received visitors and to ease the converging of two major corridors.
Each patient’s bed is designed as an individual cubical. The patient’s partition hugs around the bed at 1.8m high providing privacy and it slopes down to 1m allowing visibility for medical staff to monitor the patient’s condition. The patient cubical are also designed with rounded corners to facilitate beds manoeuvring at corridors.
